National Centrist PAC

A bunch of Centrist Bloggers are talking about forming a National Centrist PAC. The aim would be to help elect candidates and promote Policies. We would have a central web site and blog, where we would discuss which candidates to support and how to raise money for them. Something in the fashion of Moveon, Actblue, or Daily Kos.

What is our aim? To encourage and put a premium on cooperation, collaboration, compromise, bi-partisanship, pragmatism, efficiency, incremental movement forward. Perhaps also to have an impact on main stream media by talking about inspired compromise on controversial issues.

This would not be a third party but rather a way to support the moderate wings of the D and R parties. Colin Powell talks about the sensible center. Alan Greenspan talks about a third way. It feels to some of us like an idea whose time has come.

Something like this already exists in Texas: Texas 20/20 PAC

Your thoughts?

When John McCain is asked about the influence of the religious right, he always comments on his admiration for their organization and enthusiasism. He also tells moderates who are unhappy with the religious right that if they want to get their message across then then they need to focus on acquiring that same organization and enthusiasism. I think something like a National Centrist PAC is a good step toward that.

Looking for information and found it at this great site...

Paul, I tried sending you an email.

Has there been any movement on the National Centrist PAC? Or, is there somewhere I can go to find an update on the concept?

Thanks and I enjoy your site.
